Johnny was a small town white boy growing up in the dirtiest of the 30’s on the edge of the majestic Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. In Johnny’s childhood, racial intolerance was the blanket everyone lived under but no one had the power to throw it off completely. Johnny’s mixed race household made an already hard scrabble life even more demanding. But his love made it all worthwhile.
Until a high mountain walk with his Pa turned his whole life upside down. Johnny struggles to find himself through the tangle of time, circumstance and so many lessons learned the hard way.
Shenandoah Dreams is a rich historic tapestry of a story woven through with all-too human tragedy, loss, love and never-say-die devotion.
Johnny was never the same again after the fall. And you won’t be either.
